The Danfoss PX-F series of self-regulating parallel circuit heating cables provide the solution to basic freeze protection applications. The power output of the conductive core material increases or decreases in response to ambient temperature changes. This effect occurs at every point along the length of the cable thereby adjusting the power output to the varying conditions along the length of the pipe. Because of the self-regulating effect the cable can be overlapped without creating hot spots or causing a burn out. The self-regulating effect of Danfoss PX-F provides for the efficient use of electric power, producing heat only when and where it is needed. Because it is a parallel circuit system Danfoss PX-F can be cut to length at the job site thus simplifying the installation process and reducing waste. Two jackets, an inner jacket bonded to the core and a thermoplastic elastomer insulation jacket provides excellent dielectric strength and in combination with the over jacket provides excellent moisture resistance and protection from impact and abrasion damage. A stranded tinned copper braid is supplied on all cables and an optional over jacket of TPE is also available.
